This Sunday 365 will get to enjoy one of the perks of being a home church. We're forfeiting our Sunday morning gathering for a community outreach. That's right, we won't be meeting on Sunday morning. (Is that even legal for a church? We think so.) Instead we are meeting at Lori and I's home to host the Halloween activities for our neighborhood.
For years now, the Hometead (our neighborhood) has organized trick-or-treating for the kids. Last year we offered our home as trick-or-treat central and we were able to really bless the community. Because of the interest that we've shown in helping, the powers that be asked us to take the lead on the evening this year. We were honored and accepted.
The festivities start at 5:00 pm with a good ol' cajun jambalaya cooked by the 365 ladies. The kids of the neighborhood will be cranking up their metabolism by jumping on the fun jumps that we've rented for them. That way they'll be ready to handle the calorie rush that will come as the hayride brings them to collect their spoils. Should be fun.
So if you want to attend the 365 gathering this Sunday, put on your work clothes and help us bless the neighbors.
