Keeping it Real

family-shadowsThis morning I found myself evaluating 365. We are a good “church”. I knew this already, but this morning I began to try to identify what makes us good. I think our common passion for the Kingdom of God is a major factor. Certainly our willingness to reach out and help others, both locally and abroad, adds to our merit. Our worship is pure and our love for the Word of God insures that we are constantly growing, but what really makes 365 is the relationships within the body. The one thing I am certain of is that when someone walks through the door of one of our gatherings they will find a family. This plays out weekly as we care for one another. We’re genuinely concerned when someone within the group is facing hardship of any kind. We give of ourselves in every imaginable form to help our family members. This is truly beautiful and, I believe, God’s plan for His Body.

What I think impresses me most is that this commitment to one another is not regulated. It is not a designed plan by the 365 Church organization. To use the term of the day, it’s organic. Congratulations!

My encouragement to each of you is to value this admirable characteristic that we seem to possess. Embrace it. While we appreciate those who have opened their homes to us for our gatherings, the location isn’t important. The food is always amazing, but it’s not why people come. Even though the weekly messages come straight from the Word of God, I believe the real magic happens when we, the living epistles (II Cor. 3:3), interact with each other.

So keep it real! You’re doing great!
